My name is Mrs. Jenn Crase.  This is my 14th year teaching middle school mathematics and my 7th year at South Oldham Middle School in Crestwood, KY.  Previously I taught at Neal Middle School and Rogers-Herr Year Round Middle School, both in Durham, NC.  I received my bachelor’s degree from The University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio (Go Rockets!) and my master’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!).  I have been a National Board Certified Teacher since 2002.  Recently, I was named one of the top 103 math and science teachers in the nation by President Barack Obama for the state of Kentucky with the Presidential Award for Math and Science Teaching.  You might wish to check out:  http://recognition.paemst.org/media_room/finalist_profiles/jennifer-crase

I am married with a 7 year old son, Brandon.  In my spare time I like riding roller coasters (I absolutly love Cedar Point), going to the movies, going to the beach, cooking, shopping, and traveling (we just went to Maui this summer).

My passion has always been working with 8th graders.  They are at such a special time in their lives, which moms and dads might not appreciate as much, but I do.  My hope is that you will love my class, learn to love me, and maybe even learn to love math in the process.  By the time you leave 8th grade it is my goal that your realize that MATH DORKS ROCK!
